California Volunteers in Action

For more than a century, the members of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution have dedicated themselves to historic preservation, promotion of education, and encouraging patriotism. These goals are as relevant in today’s National Society as they were when the organization was founded in 1890.

Most DAR volunteer work is accomplished under a committee system. As the state regent takes office, she leads the Daughters in her state to achieve significant goals set by the National Society’s President General, appointing state chairs and vice-chairs to encourage work done in districts and at the chapter level.

Additionally, the state regent establishes State Regent’s Projects designed to unite Daughters in statewide projects.
