Why join the La Jolla Chapter of D.A.R.?The La Jolla Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR), was organized May 16, 1949, by Miss Angeline E. Allen, the organizing regent. Meeting activities are focused on three objectives of the National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution: historic preservation, education, and patriotism. Our chapter is thriving more than 75 years later! In our monthly meetings, we have enjoyed speakers about the military, immigrants, and genealogy. We often invite speakers to our meetings to deepen our knowledge of local issues and programs, American history and heritage, the current state of the U.S. armed forces, and the work of our National Society. Officially associated with the California State Society as well as National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution, our members are active in supporting DAR causes, including fundraising for the many charitable projects of the National Society.
