Mandarin Festival
This was the first year we tried anything such as a booth at a festival. It was a lot of work… but even more fun. We not only made money, but DAR had a presence in the community. We are already making plans for this year's event on November 17 & 18, 2007, at the Placer County Fairgrounds. We:
- sold cookbooks and handmade patriotic and holiday items.
- gave out flags to children as well as several adults
- provided information about DAR
- received several names of prospective members
Voter Polls in Placer County
If you voted in any of the elections this past year in Placer County, you no doubt had a Gold Trail DAR member help you at the polls.
We had such a presence and enjoyed the compliments we received from voters that we had given our time to serve their needs.
This next year we are looking forward to three elections! We:
- provide a service to our community
- educate adults and children about the voting process
- provide information about DAR
- receive publicity in three newspapers
- make money for DAR
Borders Gift Wrap
Every Christmas season, members of Gold Trail DAR volunteer to wrap packages at Borders Books in Roseville. What a great way to get to know other members while you sit wrapping presents and talking… what we do best!

- Provide information about DAR
- Receive publicity
- Make money for DAR
President’s Day with KCRA-TV
Gold Trail DAR organized a fun get together with other chapters of DAR at the Arden Fair Shopping Center of Sacramento to show off our patriotism on President’s Day. We were also joined by members of Gold Country SAR.. Exciting time for us!
