Lineage Workshop Invitation

Prospective members are invited to attend our Lineage Workshops held the 3rd Saturday of every month from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.. We offer individualized help so please e-mail Francie to help you schedule a time. If you miss the workshop, you can set up an individual time to meet with our registrar or a member of her Lineage Committee. Those interested in starting research into their ancestry should prepare a pedigree chart of what is known about their ancestors. Names and at least approximate birth dates and birthplaces of known children should be recorded on a separate piece of paper for each couple on the chart.

Researchers should also try to locate the town, county, and state in which ancestors may have been living during the years federal censuses were taken: 1930, 1920, 1910, 1900, 1880, 1870, 1860, 1850, 1840, 1830, 1820, 1810, 1800, and 1790. The 1890 census was lost due to a fire. Because of privacy laws involving living persons, 1930 is the last census available to the public.

Those attending the workshop are asked to bring their completed charts and all other information that may help in plotting their family trees.

Those who have relatives who are DAR members are asked to bring their full names, national numbers, and application papers, if possible.
