Welcome!
The Luiseņo Chapter was organized on October
15, 1966. Ora B. Findley (Mrs. Joab B. Findley)
was the chapter's first regent. Our
chapter, Luiseņo, was named after the Luiseņo Mission Indians from Mission San
Luis Rey. The chapter was organized and chartered in Sun City, California.
Our location was changed to Temecula Valley, after much growth came to the
surrounding communities of Menifee, Murrieta, Lake Elsinore, Wildomar, and
Temecula.
Most members are from the
Temecula Valley area; however, some members are from other areas, as well. Local residency is
not a requirement for membership in any chapter.
The Luiseņo Chapter luncheon meetings are held on the
fourth Tuesday of the month, September through May, at 11:30 a.m. If you would like to attend one of our meetings, please
contact us.
We welcome any woman for membership who is over 18 years of age and who is descended from a man or woman who aided in achieving American Independence during the period between April 19, 1775, and November 26, 1783. Information on membership in the DAR can be found
here.
