On-Going Performance

• Visit, party with, and support our veterans at the Barstow California Veterans Home with gifts and cheer at memorial times and holidays.
  
  
• Attend and participate in Veteran and Memorial services locally staged.
  
  
• Sponsor local essay contests, providing certificates and prizes to winners, and presenting them and their efforts to District VIII for further evaluation.
  
  
• Publish quarterly, a chapter newsletter, Wind Words, News of the Tomo-Kahni Chapter.

• Participate in DAR contests; attend State Conference and Continental Congress.
  
  
• Publish A Taste of FREEDOM cookbook with over 400 Recipes for Hungry Patriots.
  
  
• Contribute to DAR schools.
  
  
• Adopt a soldier and send useful items to our forces in Afghanistan.
  
  
• Support "Pennies for Pines" with the National Forest Service and plant trees locally.
  
  
• Assist potential members with Genealogy and Lineage work necessary to establish membership.
  
  
• Sponsored a tattered U.S. Flag redemption program to provide respectful and proper disposal with replacement opportunities.
  
  
• Attend Chapter meetings with informative guest speakers such as returned veterans and conservation enthusiasts.
  
  
• "Dress up" and participate in an annual 4th of July parade in Bear Valley Springs.
  
  
• Hold an annual parking lot sale to raise funds.
  
  
• Collect heavy phone books for the felines at Exotic Feline Compound in Mojave, CA.
  
  
• Actively seek new members to support our goals.
