Captain John Oldham Chapter is located in the Grass Valley / Nevada City area of the Sierra Nevada foothills.  It is in the heart of the California 49'er country and was home to the largest gold mine in California.  The Nevada County area was one of the largest and earliest populated counties during the Gold Rush.
